Speaker Bio: Dr. Talia Carroll (she/her) currently serves as the Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at Oklahoma City University where she leads and guides diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. The foundation of her passion for this work stems from her experiences living in Portugal, Singapore, and Spain, traveling extensively as a member of a military family, as well as meaningful career opportunities that shaped her worldview and commitment to helping others broaden their perspectives.
Program Description: When is the last time you practiced intention while reflecting on your life experiences and how they’ve shaped your perspectives of the world? All of us have enriching or defining life experiences that contribute to who we are and how we lead and in our personal and professional lives. In her own reflections having lived in Portugal, Singapore, and Spain, Carroll shares how her living and traveling abroad provided a foundation for her deep understanding and appreciation of inclusion, equity, and diversity (IED) and its importance across all sectors. Additionally, she posits that a genuine and embedded practices of IED benefit individuals and groups by broadening perspectives about ethical behavior.
